Baby Boomers
There are approximately 70 million people who were born from 1945 and 1964. Many of us were teenagers during the 1960's. We have many memories of a simpler time when we could have fun in many ways without putting our lives in danger. Additionally, we (Baby Boomers) have seen much in the way of technology and the changes that those changes have manifested in our everyday lives. For example, today everyone has a cell phone, but in 1960, not everyone had a landline in their home. Or if they had a phone, it may have been a party line where at times someone you did not know was using the phone and you had to wait until they were done talking. Imagine that!
Being in Charge of Self
It goes without saying that most people do believe in a higher power who controls everything around us, but each person must do their part to help their own hopes and dreams. The economy is being talked about ad nausem these days, but we will see better times. The irony in this is that for, some people , their economy has been bad for a long time. How many people have been without work or without enough work for a long time? I think that many of us need to take matters into our own hands. Back in the day, many people did not have the opportunity to get mainstream jobs, so they improvised. They had to survive. They had to support families. Failure or mediocrity was not an option. We need to think back to those times and re-create those days. We cannot afford to sit around and wait for the economy to remember that we are here. Without a doubt, everyone would love to be able to get that perfect job with good pay and benefits. However, the truth is, not everyone will fall into a situation such as that. And if you do not, you still have to survive. You still need food, shelter and a list of many other items necessary to live comfortably. So do what you have to move your situation past where you are now.
Getting Involved in your community
Without making your opinions know to government officials, many issues concerning citizens will be made without input from the average citizens. Politicians act as if most people have unlimited resources to keep paying for stuff. The truth is that they do not care if everyone of us ends up living outside, begging for our next meal. It is up to us to shake things up, otherwise, we will be treated as if being financially challenged is a crime. The punishment is that you are charged more for stuff (taxes) that you could not afford in the first place.
